Over the last few months we have been putting together plans to roast the government for its abject surrender to the national media on the issue of press regulation.

This was to be debated at our AGM on 27 September (details to follow, but drop us a line on info@transmediawatch.org if you would like to know more and/or to attend). However, recent events mean it is worth letting people know now about our direction of travel, and to provide some helpful background for those wishing to campaign with us or on their own.

The three key demands are:

• Implement Leveson NOW
• Take Group Hate seriously – and come up with serious ways of combatting it
• Look at cumulative effects, and devise means to combat them
